The upcoming match between Essex and Somerset is going to be a thrilling one on Sunday, June 19 at the County Ground in Chelmsford. Essex is currently at the third position in the points table, having won four and losing three games with 9 points as well. Meanwhile, Somerset is placed second in the points table with five wins and two defeats alongside 10 points in their name as well.

However, Essex beat Middlesex by 61 runs in Chelmsford in their last game and went one spot ahead to third despite being tied with Gloucestershire on nine points. Feroze Khushi’s 67 and Paul Walter’s unbeaten 58 helped Essex post a huge total of 186 on the board. And, three-wicket hauls from Samuel Cook and Matthew Critchley later on restricted Middlesex to 128 before they were bundled out in 18.2 overs as well.

On the other hand, Somerset faced a defeat to Kent by 32 runs while chasing a massive total of over 200 runs which came on the back of Jordan Cox’s 94 off 47 balls. Somerset opted to bowl but couldn’t leave a mark as Cox took on every bowler, smashing six sixes and three fours in his knock. In reply, Somerset could only manage to score 170 runs where all of Kent’s six bowlers picked up wickets. Captain Tom Abell (43) and Ben Green (48) kept Somerset in the chase, but it wasn’t enough for them as they eventually lost.
