On Tuesday, Essex will play against Kent in the T20 Blast South Group at the County Ground, Chelmsford. Middlesex is currently at the sixth position in the points table having won only two and losing two whereas one ended with no result and 5 points as well. On the other hand, Kent are placed second from the bottom of the points table with only one win and five defeats alongside 2 points in their name as well.

Essex’s last game against Gloucestershire at County Ground, Bristol was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. Before that, they faced a defeat to Glamorgan by 6 wickets at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff in a low-scoring match, while reaching the target of 114 in just 16.5 overs. The Australian duo of Michael Hogan and Michael Neser picked up three wickets each to dismantle Essex’s line-up. Matthew Critchley tried his best with a 26-ball 38, but no other batsman went past 23 as well and they could manage only a below-par total. In reply, Sam Northeast’s run-a-ball 44 helped them seal the deal with ease.

Jordan Cox gave good support to Denly, scoring 45 off 34 in a 157-run second-wicket partnership as well. While chasing, Middlesex started poorly as they lost wickets at regular intervals. Stephen Eskinazi’s 30 off 24 was the highest individual score as Jack Leaning claimed three wickets while George Linde and Grant Stewart picked up two scalps each as well.
