Sri Lanka Women U19 will take on Bangladesh Women U19 in the 10th match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 at Willowmoore Park B Field, Benoni on January 16, Monday.
Sri Lanka Women U19 will take on Bangladesh Women U19 in the 10th match of the ICC U19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 at Willowmoore Park B Field, Benoni on January 16, Monday. South Africa is the host of the inaugural edition of the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in January 2023. 16 teams will compete in the tournament and 41 matches will take place as well. Moreover, 16 warm-up matches took place between 9 and 11 January in Johannesburg and Tshwane. The World Cup matches will be played across four venues in Benoni (Willowmoore Park and Willowmoore Park B Field) and Potchefstroom (Senwes Park and North-West University No1 Ground). Both semi-finals will be played on 27 January at JB Marks Oval in Potchefstroom whereas the final will take place at the same venue on 29 January as well.
11 full-member nations gained direct entry to the inaugural edition of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup – Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Zimbabwe. The rest of the five places were filled by the champions from each of the ICC’s five regions as well – UAE, Rwanda, USA, Indonesia and Scotland. All 16 teams have been divided in 4 groups also. Group A (Australia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and USA), Group B (England, Pakistan, Rwanda and Zimbabwe), Group C (Indonesia, Ireland, New Zealand and West Indies) and Group D (India, Scotland, South Africa and the UAE) as well.
