South Africa Women have won the four-match ODI series against West Indies Women 2-1 with a convincing six-wicket win in the fourth and final game in Johannesburg on Sunday (February 6) as well. Shabnim Ismail claimed a 4 for 44 helped South Africa bundle the visitors for 174 in the final over before Andrie Steyn (52) and the captain Sune Luus (47) set up a comfortable chase with their 88-run partnership for the third wicket.

Ismail provided with the first breakthrough in the fifth over itself after West Indies elected to bat, removed Rashada Williams for a laboured six. However, a 64-run stand came in between from in-form Deandra Dottin (36 off 63) and Kycia Knight (48 off 76). It was Ismail again who gave the much-needed breakthrough. A dramatic collapse took place where Chloe Tryon and Ayabonga Khaka both struck twice each and Ismail picked up two more to her tally as Windes reduced from 104/2 to lose their last eight wickets for an additional 70 runs as well.

However, Luus fell three short of her another convincing half-century when the veteran Anisa Mohammed trapped her before the stumped in the 35th over. Steyn though scored her 70-ball half-century but fell soon after. However, Tryon launched a flurry of boundaries in her unbeaten cameo of 20 and helped South Africa reach the finish line with more than ten overs to spare as well.

Brief scores: West Indies Women 174 all out in 49.2 overs (Kycia Knight 48, Deandra Dottin 36; Shabnim Ismail 4-44) lost to South Africa Women 175/4 in 39.5 overs (Andrie Steyn 52, Sune Luus 47; Anisa Mohammed 2-31) by 6 wickets
