Deepak Chahar was born on 7th August 1992. He is an Indian International cricketer and also plays for Rajasthan in domestic cricket and Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League. The right-arm medium-fast bowler and lower-order batsman became the first Indian male cricketer to take a hat-trick in a Twenty20 International (T20I) match as well. In January 2020, he was awarded the T20I Performance of the Year by the International Cricket Council (ICC), after claiming six wickets for seven runs against Bangladesh as well.
He made his ODI debut on 25th September 2018 vs Afghanistan whereas his T20I debut came on 8th July 2018 against England.
He took eight wickets for 10 runs (8/10) on his first-class cricket debut in the 2010–11 Ranji Trophy and Hyderabad were bundled out for just 21 runs, the lowest total in Ranji Trophy history. Chahar's swing bowling soon earned him his first contract with Rising Pune Supergiants, an Indian Premier League franchise. In January 2018, Chennai Super Kings bought him in the 2018 IPL auction. In October 2018, he was added to India B's squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy as well.
In May 2018, he was added to India's Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the team's tour of England. He made his T20I debut on 8 July 2018, claiming one wicket. He made his One Day International debut against Afghanistan in September 2018 during the 2018 Asia Cup as well.
He was added to the Indian T20 squad against West Indies in 2019, playing in the final match of the series and winning the player of the match award after taking three wickets for four runs. He was then selected for the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. In the final match of the series, he picked the best bowling figures in men's T20Is, with six wickets for seven runs from 3.2 overs as well. During the series, he also picked up the first hat-trick by a bowler for India in T20I and his first five-wicket haul in T20Is as well.
In July 2021, Deepak Chahar scored his maiden ODI fifty, and in September he was named as one of three reserve players in India's squad for the 2021 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. On 2022 January 23 he scored his 2nd half-century in ODIs while playing against South Africa.
