Mumbai Indians, IPL 2023: Strength, Weakness, Squad, Predicted Playing XI

We are just days away from the first match of the Indian Premier League 2023, Like every year, this IPL season promises to entertain cricket fans across the globe. All the team have finalised their squads and made several combinations to suit different playing conditions. Mumbai Indians, the franchise has had massive success over the years, they have won a few titles under the leadership of Rohit Sharma. MI has always had a very strong squad to choose from. However, in the last season, they released some of their important players and added some exciting youngsters who failed to impress. 

Strength:

If you look at Mumbai’s batting unit, they have outright match-winners slotted in their top six and their lower order also can tonk the ball. Besides having a formidable Indian core comprising Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma, they have also bagged Cameron Green and Tim David who could play a valuable role in the upcoming season. The presence of some exciting overseas players makes this unit a force to reckon with.

Weakness:

Unreliable spin bowling and youngsters with not a lot of experience are a major weaknesses of the Mumbai Indians unit. Although they have several options and variety, their spin unit has Shams Mulani, Hrithik Shokeen and Kumar Kartikeya who lack experience. Furthermore, the veteran Piyush Chawla is slightly rusty and is on the wrong side of his 30s. In short, they lack a genuine wicket-taking spinner and some of their batter like Dewald Brevis are talented but are short of match experience.
