Will Jacks, who was signed by RCB for a sum of INR 3.4 crore in the IPL Auction will be replaced by Michael Bracewell
New Zealand allrounder Michael Bracewell has been bagged in by Royal Challengers Bangalore as a replacement for England’s Will Jacks, who was ruled out from the upcoming season due to an injury which during the ODI series in Bangladesh. Will Jacks, who was signed by RCB for a sum of INR 3.4 crore in the IPL Auction held in December. Jacks has 2,802 runs in his kitty from 109 T20s with a century and 23 half-centuries. His strike rate is also a handsome 157.94. He has 26 T20 wickets to his credit and also keeps it very tight, has a brilliant economy rate and is an outstanding fielder.
Bracewell comes into the RCB squad as a replacement after impressive performances in New Zealand’s recent tour of India, where the all-rounder put up a brilliant all-round show, He smashed a 78 ball 140 laced which included 12 boundaries and 10 maximums. Michael Bracewell was also New Zealand’s highest-wicket taker from the 3-match T20I series as well, ending with four wickets from three matches at a fantastic economy rate of just 5.77. Michael Bracewell has been very impressive for New Zealand in the recent past with the ball in hand, he is more than handy with the batter lower down the order, striking at 139.5 in T20Is.

Bracewell’s numbers have been magnificent from the time he made his debut, he is also a gun fielder. Bracewell joins a strong RCB squad with many foreign players and it will be hard for him to feature in the tea with other foreign players such as Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Wanindu Hasaranga, Josh Hazlewood, David Willey, Finn Allen and Reece Topley present in the team. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be led by Faf du Plessis and will play their first game against five-time champions Mumbai Indians at Bengaluru’s M Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2. It will be RCB’s first home match in four years.
RCB look like a settled unit, Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli should open followed by Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, and Shahbaz Ahmed. Dinesh Karthik should remain at his finishing role at No. 6 while bringing in spinner Mahipal Lomror and Wanindu Hararanga or Michael Bracewell at No. 7 and No. 8. Josh Hazlewood, Mohammed Siraj and Harshal Patel will be the main bowlers of the team.
