The Strikers, led by Niroshan Dickwella, are placed at the bottom of the points table with a net run rate of -1.050. They started their campaign with a defeat to Jaffna Kings by 21 runs on Sunday, July 31. After being asked to chase down 174, they were bundled out for 152 in 19.4 overs. Apart from the captain Dickwella, who scored 58 runs off 34 balls with nine fours and a six, no other batters could step up in the game.
On the other hand, Kandy are led by Wanindu Hasaranga, who has been one of the important players in every season of the LPL as well. Along with him, experienced Dinesh Chandimal and Mohammad Haris are likely to do well for Kandy. Meanwhile, Angelo Mathews will provide strength in the middle order while Asif Ali is expected to play handy cameos as well. Dushmantha Chameera and Mohammad Hasnain are most likely to lead their bowling attack as well.
