The 48th match of the ongoing IPL 2023 will see Rajasthan Royals taking on Gujarat Titans at the Sawai Mansigh Stadium in Jaipur on May 5. prior to that, the home side has a lot of problems to deal with, as it has managed to win only one game out of its last four matches in the league as well. Gujarat, meanwhile, are in a good position, despite losing their last game to Delhi Capitals as they are currently at the top of the IPL points table as well.
However, their batting unit didn’t do well against the David Warner-led side and the captain Hardik Pandya took all the blame on himself as despite scoring a fifty and staying unbeaten till the end, the skipper couldn’t help GT win their seventh match in the IPL as well. Although Wriddhiman Saha has been terrific behind the wickets, his numbers with the bat are not well. On the other hand, Shubman Gill and Vijay Shankar will have to be more consistent as well. Among bowlers, Mohammed Shami has been stunning. The ace pacer has claimed 17 wickets in nine matches so far and is likely to maintain his form as well.
For Rajasthan, their form with the bat is a bit of a concern now. Jos Buttler’s consistency has become a major issue as well. However, youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal is in great form at the moment and that’s a huge positive for them. Dhruv Jurel too is playing well at the moment. With the ball, Sandeep Sharma has done well so far while Ravichandran Ashwin has been economical too. Yuzvendra Chahal meanwhile has claimed only two wickets in the last five matches and he will try to do well this time as well.
