Defending champions Gujarat Titans will play against Delhi Capitals in the 44th league match of the ongoing IPL 2023 season. While Hardik Pandya’s team are the most in-form side in the tournament with three wins in their last three matches, Delhi Capitals come into the game with just two wins to their name in this year’s competition.
The Gujarat-based team completed a hat-trick of wins after a convincing win against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens as well. While the Gujarat bowlers did an excellent job in the first innings to restrict the home side to a below-par total, the likes of Shubman Gill, David Miller and Vijay Shankar stepped up with the bat to seal the deal. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals lost by nine runs in their previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad in a high-scoring affair on their home ground as well. Mitchell Marsh starred with both the bat and ball but his efforts went in vain.
Although the Delhi Capitals have shown some fight in their last three matches, it is going to be a tough task for David Warner’s team to beat a well-rounded Gujarat Titans team. It will be interesting to see how both teams perform.
