RCB’s swashbuckling batter Virat Kohli feels he is back to his best form after his third fifty of the IPL 2023 season against Delhi Capitals on Saturday at the Chinnaswamy stadium. Kohli, who had a below-par season in IPL last year, has been in sublime form this season and has shown aggression since the beginning at the top alongside captain Faf du Plessis. However, he scored 50 off 34 balls and went into the third spot in the race for the Orange Cap as well.

Speaking after the clash against Delhi Capitals, as quoted by Cricbuzz, Virat Kohli first commented on the catch he took of Mitchell Marsh and then he said that it was a trick chance but he made sure no one close to him as well in the IPL 2023.

“It was a tricky one. When it went up in the air, I made sure there was no one close to me. I made sure I grabbed it solidly,” said Kohli.

The RCB’s star player has said that he was disappointed to have got out to a full toss and also added that he has been playing really well this season as well. About the target set by them on the day, Virat Kohli said that he said to the team that 175 was defendable on the pitch as well.

“I was quite disappointed that I got out to a full toss. I’ve been playing really well. One thing I mentioned to the guys in the change room that 175 was enough on this pitch. It slowed down considerably. We did well to get to that score and had the belief it was enough,” said Virat Kohli.

However, Kohli also said that whenever he played his best cricket he would consistently put away good balls and that eventually put pressure on the bowlers. He also said that he backed himself to hit good shots.

“When I’ve played my best cricket, those are the balls I’ve put away consistently. When I put away their best balls, it puts pressure on the bowlers. We kind of let it slip away last two games. That was a different mentality and phase altogether (T20 World Cup 2016 semis). I back myself to hit good shots. When they come off they look good,” concluded Virat Kohli.
