India cements an unassailable lead in the series, maintaining their formidable track record in Test matches on home ground. Despite an initial setback in the opening Test, the team displayed remarkable resilience, clinching victory in the subsequent three matches to establish a commanding 3-1 lead. A comprehensive team effort propelled them to a convincing five-wicket win over England in the fourth Test held in Ranchi. Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel’s unbeaten partnership of 72 runs successfully chased down the target of 192, securing the win with five wickets in hand.

In a detailed analysis of the Test match, England, batting first, managed to post a competitive total of 353 runs on the scoreboard after a shaky start in the morning session. Joe Root’s outstanding century, complemented by contributions from Ben Foakes and Ollie Robinson, bolstered their innings. Ravindra Jadeja and debutant Akash Deep shone with the ball, claiming four and three wickets, respectively.

In reply, India faced consistent setbacks, but Yashasvi Jaiswal’s resilient 73 and Dhruv Jurel’s crucial 90 guided them to a total of 307 runs. Shoaib Bashir’s exceptional bowling performance earned him a five-wicket haul, giving England a narrow 46-run lead.

During England’s second innings, the Indian spinners dominated, with Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav taking five and four wickets, respectively. England’s batting lineup struggled, with Zak Crawley’s 60 being the only notable contribution.

In their pursuit of 192 runs for victory, India started strongly with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal building a promising partnership. Despite losing wickets, including Rohit’s departure, India remained steady at 100/3. Shoaib Bashir’s double scalp intensified the challenge, but Dhruv Jurel and Shubman Gill’s composed partnership guided India to victory, with Jurel’s positive play and effective strike rotation complementing Gill’s unbeaten 53 and Jurel’s 39 runs.
