The Ashes rivalry between England and Australia reached new heights in a thrilling Test match at Edgbaston. Some brave decisions were taken by England, declaring the innings early was one of them but probably that was one of the reasons we got a blockbuster day 5 on the cards despite losing some overs to rain. In the end, a great great encounter for the players and the fans setting up the stage for another big big Ashes series. Australia have drawn the first blood with a 1-0 lead here at Edgbaston.
The match was a rollercoaster ride, swinging back and forth over the course of five days. Rain threatened to disrupt the proceedings, but Cummins and Lyon showcased their determination in the final moments. England’s bowlers, led by Stuart Broad and Ollie Robinson, troubled the Australian openers, but Khawaja held firm with his patient knock. After losing key wickets, Cummins found support from Lyon, and together they fearlessly attacked the English bowlers, smashing boundaries and securing the win.
Amazing five days of Test cricket as the match swung like a pendulum one way and another. Rain was also looming for a considerable amount of time but it was Cummins and Lyon at the end who pulled out a heist.
