The Chennai Super Kings have looked brilliant this seasn, with their top-order and spinners doing the bulk of the work. Ruturaj Gaikwad remains consistent, others around him like Ambati Rayudu, Ajinkya Rahane, and Shivam Dube have taken charge. The CSK bowling has revolved around Ravindra Jadeja and Mitchell Santner, with Tushar Deshpande spearheading the seam bowling unit. With Deepak Chahar ruled out, their pace unit looks bleak, however, with the availability of Sri Lankan recruits , they could manage to tie things down in the death overs. Rajvardhan Hangargekar could make way for Akash Singh in the playing eleven in this fixture.

Rajasthan Royals are running high on confidence after winning their last encounter against Delhi Capitals convincingly. The likes of Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Shimron Hetmyer have been excellent with the bat, Buttler is continuing from where he left off last year. The lack of runs from Samson and Riyan Parag is a worry for the Rajasthan Royals. Trent Boultm, Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal have been mighty impressive with the ball. The Royals could include a third spinner at Chepauk, as spinners have got a lot of purchase from the pitches here.
