Anushka Sharma-starrer Chakda ‘Xpress, where she will portray the inspiring journey of India fast bowling great Jhulan Goswami, will be released on OTT platform. The movie will be directed by Prosit Roy. Roy and Anushka will team up once again after his directorial debut in the supernatural horror film Pari (2018) for the Bollywood star’s production company Clean Slate Films. The movie has been written by Abhishke Banerjee and will be produced by Saurabh Malhotra and Anushka’s brother Karnesh Ssharma.
The Bollywood actor began shooting for ‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ in June, 2022. Anushka believes that the movie will be special for her as she is portraying the character of the former India captain who has sacrificed a lot in her life. “It is a really special film because it is essentially a story of tremendous sacrifice. Chakda Xpress is inspired by the life and times of former Indian captain Jhulan Goswami and it will be an eye-opener into the world of women’s cricket,” Anushka Sharma said in a statement issued by the streamer on Thursday.
The release date of the movie is still to be confirmed. However, it has been speculated that Chakda ‘Xpress will release on an OTT platform in 2023.
Anushka Sharma will play the lead role in the movie. But the supporting characters and other roles in the movie are still not known.
‘Chakda ‘Xpress’ will be released on Netflix.
