The third and final ODI of the Australia Women’s Tour of Ireland 2023 is slated to take place on Friday (July 28) at Castle Avenue in Clontarf, Dublin. While the first ODI was abandoned without a ball bowled due to rain, Australia posted a massive total and won the second one-day international comfortably. And, now they will look to win this series as well. However, Ellyse Perry and the bowlers helped Australia beat Ireland by a massive margin of 153 runs. After the hosts grabbed two wickets in as many deliveries, Australia were reduced to 58-3 in 11 overs.
From there Beth Mooney and Perry steadied the ship, as the pair added 106 runs for the fourth wicket as well. Perry scored 91 off 99, including nine fours and three sixes as well. Later, all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner and Annabel Sutherland played quick knocks and they reached a massive total of 321-7. Ireland got off to a good start but they couldn’t keep the momentum on for too long as they were bundled out for 168 as well. However, Ireland will now try to level the series by winning the final game as well.
The track at Castle Avenue helps batters. And, bowlers need to depend on their variations and line and length to restrict the opponents. The team winning the toss could choose to bowl first as well. However, there’s only a 10% chance of rain whereas the temperature will likely be around the 21-degree Celsius as well.
