The first one-day international (ODI) of the Australia Women’s Tour of Ireland will be played at Castle Avenue in Dublin on July 23. Ireland Women didn’t have a good show recently. They’ve lost four of their previous five games. On the other hand, the Australian Women too have faced a tough series against England where they won three of their past five games and are likely to keep up their winning performance as well.

However, in their most recent match, Ireland Women faced West Indies Women where after winning the toss and deciding to bat, Ireland had a good start. Gaby Lewis helped Ireland to reach a good total of 203 runs. Meanwhile, West Indies also lost quick wickets but they were compensated by some solid partnerships, which kept them in the game as well. And, an unbroken fifth-wicket partnership of 110 runs helped them win. On the other hand, Australia Women last faced England Women where in their last game, they chose to field and claimed two wickets for just 12 runs. But, Heather Knight and Nat Sciver-Brunt steadied the ship and helped England Women reach 285 runs.

Australia had a poor start, but a solid partnership for the third wicket helped them to recover. Meanwhile, the Aussies continued losing wickets in between, which helped England to win by 69 runs in the end. But due to their defeat in the one-off Test and the T20I series, Australia were able to retain the Ashes as the series ended in a draw as well.
