The first match of the tournament will see Sri Lanka A play against Bangladesh A at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo in a Group A fixture on July 13.
The ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 is all to begin on July 13 in Sri Lanka. A total of eight teams will be featured in the tournament, with five ‘A’ teams of the full members of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) taking part. However, these eight teams are divided into two groups, with the top two teams from each group playing in the semifinals. The final will take place on July 23. However, the first match of the tournament will see Sri Lanka A play against Bangladesh A at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo in a Group A fixture on July 13.
However, Sri Lanka A have announced a strong squad, where they have added players who have represented the national senior squad. The likes of Dunith Wellalage, Ashen Bandara, Chamika Karunaratne, and Pramod Madhusan are expected to step up and contribute to Sri Lanka A in the ACC Men’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 as well. Bangladesh A, meanwhile, named Saif Hassan as the captain of the team. Zakir Hasan, however, has been added as his deputy and he is expected to don the keeping gloves as well. Notably, Soumya Sarkar, Mahedi Hasan, and Mohammad Naim are regular members of the senior team and they will try to do well for Bangladesh A in the upcoming tournament.
