India claimed the title of the best nation at the Asian Youth U18 Athletics Championships 2022 which took place in Kuwait between October 13 and 16, 2022. With a total of 24 medals, including six gold, eleven silver, and seven bronze, the youth Indian team ended its successful campaign. Both India and Chinese Taipei won six gold medals during the last three days, while India outdid Chinese Taipei with 11 silver medals to the latter’s one. India’s Mubssina Mohammed won two medals for the nation in the form of two silvers, one in the girls’ long jump and another in the heptathlon. China, the Asian Youth Athletics Championships’ perennial powerhouse and most successful nation opted out of the event this year.
