CM Punk and Colt Cabana were once the greatest friends anybody could have. They started out in the industry together in Chicago, facing each other in major events all across the country. They were the independent match that everyone wanted to schedule, and they both rose to prominence in WWE as a result of their collaboration.

CM Punk selected Colt Cabana’s show to express his displeasure and explain why he left WWE about a year ago. He was the only one Punk trusted to tell his tale the way it needed to be told, and they appeared destined to be best friends forever.

In 2019, both guys were involved in a lawsuit against each other. Both individuals were suing each other in connection with a prior WWE litigation involving the CM Punk Colt Cabana podcast. They allegedly stopped conversing, yet they still share the AEW locker room without saying anything to one other.

Dave Meltzer confirmed on Wrestling Observer Radio that it wasn’t Cabana’s involvement at a WWE event that sparked the conflict. The real reason was that while Punk and Cabana were being sued, he was having pizza with PAC, Kevin Owens, and Sami Zayn.

“Okay, so the show on Monday when we were talking about the irony of the Punk thing and the thing that started all of this, which was when Punk and Cabana had their falling out when Cabana going to the show. Anyways, I’ve been told that the story is essentially correct, but it wasn’t…Cabana didn’t go to a WWE show. He actually went out for pizza with Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and PAC a couple of years ago and that’s what caused the start of everything basically because he [Punk] felt that they shouldn’t have contact with anyone in WWE because of the lawsuit. Caban went for pizza with guys he’s known on the independent scene for years and years and was good friends with,” Meltzer stated.
