As Punk walked into the ring with his bag in hand, the excitement was obvious. Since Punk started bringing the bag around, wrestling fans have been talking about what might be inside.
Tony Schiavone asked Punk about the secret, and he finally chose to tell the truth. Punk had only been in Hartford for two hours when the show started. He talked about what was going on in AEW and Collision, as well as the upcoming All-In event at Wembley Stadium. He suggested that there was a link between what was in his bag, what was happening, and Ricky Starks.
Punk opened the bag and pulled out the AEW World Championship belt in a dramatic moment. He said that he should be the winner because he had earned it.
The belt, which had his name and the Straight Edge sign (an X), was proof of his claim. Punk then said that he is the “real world champion” and that Collision would still hold the title.
Ricky Starks came in and took the title for himself, which stopped the big reveal. Starks, who has beaten Punk twice, said that he is not only the real-world winner but also the face of Collision.
Punk’s answer to Starks’ dare was to suggest a shot at the title but with a twist: a special guest referee would be in charge of the fight.
But that wasn’t the end of the shocks. Tony Schiavone said that WWE Hall of Famer Ricky Steamboat would be the special guest judge for the future title match between Punk and Starks.
