Tanea Brooks also known as Rebel is an American pro wrestler who also works as a professional wrestling manager, model, actress, dancer, and apparently a cosmetologist. Tanea Brooks was born in Owasso, Oklahoma on September 8, 1978, and grew up with a burning passion for dance and performances. Before entering the world of professional wrestling, she pursued a career in dancing, modeling, and cosmetology. As a talented dancer, she became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader and appeared on the cover of their swimsuit calendar. Her athletic abilities also led her to play in the Lingerie Football League.
Tanea Brooks started her TNA wrestling career after she was recommended to the promotion by her long-time friend Christy Hemme. Her first appearance in TNA would be on May 2014 where she would appear under the name Rebel as a member of a team called The Menagerie, following this she would make regular appearances in the show along with Crazzy Steve and The Freak. Rebel would make her in-ring debut during an episode of Impact Wrestling that aired on September 10, 2014.
On her debut, she would team up with Crazzy Steve and Knux against The BroMans and Velvet Sky in a six-man tag team match. Unfortunately, she would lose her debut match. She would return on October 15 where she would defeat Angelina Love and The BroMans. Later Rebel would participate in a battle royale for the TNA Knockouts Championship. But unfortunately, she’d end up becoming the first wrestler to be eliminated.
The Menagerie would split up and Rebel would team up with Brooke against The Dollhouse in a tag team match that she’d lose. Afterward, she would turn into a heel after attacking Velvet Sky and teaming up with The Dollhouse. But The Dollhouse would disband on March 2016 and following that Rebel would announce her departure from TNA on September 14, 2016.
The news of Tanea Brooks joining AEW broke out on August 2019 via Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Brooks would later appear on April 29, 2020, on an episode of AEW Dynamite as Rebel but as a character that would exclusively act as a makeup artist and personal assistant to Dr. Britt Baker.
Rebel has been in the wrestling industry for almost a decade now and throughout her career she has managed to gain a lot of fans. So naturally fans speculate whether she is in a relationship or not. Currently, Tanea Brooks also known as Rebel is single and there is almost next to no information about her past relationships. Though there have been rumors about her having a relationship with WWE producer James Long in the past during her TNA days.
