AEW superstar and leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society, Chris Jericho is a man who keeps his best friends really close. Ever since his early days in AEW, Jericho had a lot of partners but there is one man who has stuck by him through thick and thin and that is Jake Hager. Hager, who in essence is like Jericho’s personal bodyguard, was with him in the Inner Circle and now as a part of the Jericho Appreciation Society. In this week’s Talk Is Jericho podcast, Chris revealed how Jake Hager once saved his life.

Jericho shared about an incident in a club where a guy was yelling and screaming and who according to Jericho was being an a*****e. He then went on to hip-check him. Unfortunately for Jericho, when he was leaving the club, he ran into the same guy but this time, he was with a group of friends. Y2J said,” “He goes ‘My dad owns 27% of this company. And I’m putting a bounty on your head. In the next 24 hours, you are going to be killed and I’m gonna pay them $7 million.’

“I remember Jake going, ‘Don’t do it, man. This is the wild west. They will kill you here. They’ll f***ing string you up, they’ll hang you.’ The only reason I didn’t take a wild swing with my stupid key was because Jake told me not to. If he had not told me not to fight this guy, I would have (fought) him, and who knows what would have happened. So therefore, in pro wrestling logic, Jake Hager saved my life!”

Chris Jericho is the GOAT according to Kurt Angle

WWE legend and Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has stated that AEW star Chris Jericho has overtaken Shawn Michaels as the Greatest of All Time. In a recent interview with Lucha Liber Online, the Olympic Gold medallist heaped praises on Y2J and stated his reasons for it. He said, “What he’s been able to do with his characters, changing and innovating himself and being able to be as effective as he is in the business this late in his career, at 51, 52 years of age, and being in the business for over 30 years.”

He continued, “He’s put in a lot of time, a lot of effort, and he’s very talented. So, I put him up there with Shawn Michaels, but now, after being in AEW and doing the things he’s doing now, he has to be the greatest of all time, especially for the amount of years he put in.”
