Kurt Angle in WWE

Angle signed an eight-year deal with the World Wrestling Federation in October 1998. (WWF). In Memphis, Tennessee, he was sent to the Power Pro Wrestling developing region, where he began training. Angle made his debut appearance on WWF television in an angle with Tiger Ali Singh on the March 7, 1999 broadcast of Sunday Night Heat. Singh paid him money to blow his nose on the American flag. Instead, Angle fought Singh by blowing his snot on his flag. On April 11, 1999, he won his first official WWF bout in a dark match against Brian Christopher.

Angle became a fan favourite when World Championship Wrestling and ECW formed The Alliance and attacked the WWF in mid-2001 (called “The Invasion”), and he launched a storyline in which he teamed up with WWF Champion Steve Austin to resist them.

Angle and Austin led a team of five WWF superstars against five hand-picked Alliance members at Invasion. Team WWF was defeated by Team Alliance as part of the angle, and Austin switched on his team to join The Alliance.

Austin nailed Angle with a Stone Cold Stunner at the end of the match, leading him to be pinned by the other team. Then, at Unforgiven, Angle was scheduled to battle Austin in a SummerSlam rematch for his second WWF Championship.

Angle was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on January 16, 2017.  Angle made his first WWE debut in over 11 years on the April 3 episode of Raw following WrestleMania 33, when Mr McMahon hired Angle as the new general manager of Raw. Angle was released by WWE on April 15th, 2020.
