What happened with the explosive components in play, and which side would depart the night with momentum as a clash loomed? AEW Dynamite was all crazy with many excellent matches. Adam Cole is all over AEW World Champion Adam “Hangman” Page, with a new superstar making her debut in AEW women’s division, it was all very exciting.

AEW Dynamite Match card

  • CM Punk vs. Max Caster
  • Jon Moxley vs. Jay Lethal
  • Wheeler Yuta vs. Bryan Danielson
  • Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo
  • FTR vs. The Gunn Club
  • Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier: The Bunny vs. a new AEW acquisition

CM Punk vs Max Caster

In the night’s first bout, CM Punk resumed his ongoing pattern of fighting with tag team rivals in singles battles, against The Acclaimed’s Max Caster. Caster shone, dishing up plenty of punishment on Punk, but it was the jaded master who landed an old-school piledriver and ended with the Anaconda Vise on AEW Dynamite.

Jay Lethal vs. Jon Moxley

In what was a tough, hard-hitting contest between two guys the fans at the University of South Carolina were anxious to root for, Lethal shockingly controlled the tempo throughout the bout. Moxley rallied back and was able to seal the victory with the Paradigm Shift, despite a tough opponent. The contest was incredible. The physicality was out of this world. Moxley and Lethal pummelling each other mercilessly while also incorporating some excellent in-ring psychology.

FTR vs. The Gunn Club

With a win against FTR’s Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler on Wednesday night, Austin and Colten Gunn wanted to join tag team championship contention, but defeating the finest tag team in the organisation proved far tougher than they could have expected.

Despite controlling a major amount of the contest, this is the case. FTR battled from behind and, despite Billy Gunn’s constant interference, Harwood and Wheeler delivered the Big Rig to win by pinfall.

An intense battle ensued between the heel group and the returning Eddie Kingston, Santana, and Ortiz after a backstage promo by the Jericho Appreciation Society.

The babyfaces were on top as they entered the ring, but the numbers game proved to be too much for them. The heels thrashed their opponents, thrashing them and left them in a heap before standing proud in front of the supporters, much to the displeasure of the crowd.

Wheeler Yuta vs. Bryan Danielson

As he faced Bryan Danielson in a bout that put him one step closer to being AEW’s next breakout star, Wheeler Yuta remained motivated to prove himself to William Regal and The Blackpool Combat Club.

The audience in South Carolina was completely behind Yuta as he faced off against the finest wrestler on the globe, who was fearless of the challenge. He stayed in the contest for as long as he did because of his uncontrolled determination. Danielson’s tenacity eventually won out, but Yuta emerged stronger than he had ever been in AEW.

Owen Hart Foundation Tournament Qualifier: The Bunny vs. Toni Storm

The Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament began with The Bunny squaring off against Toni Storm, AEW’s newest signee. The Australian was greeted with a standing ovation upon her arrival, but she was swiftly met with the very real challenge of a senior opponent who was weary of being neglected.

Storm fought off Bunny’s attack, including a pair of superkicks that almost knocked her out of the tournament early, then delivered Storm Zero for the pinfall victory.

Darby Allin vs. Andrade El Idolo

Allin was brutalised by the second-generation great before the contest even began. When it did, he resumed the hammering, pushing Allin to summon every ounce of courage he could have in order to win. Interference from Jose, The Butcher, and The Blade proved to be the difference, as El Idolo took advantage of the confusion and won his largest AEW victory yet.
