On this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, MJF continued to torment his opponent, CM Punk, and his former henchman, Wardlow. He arrived at the ring with Shawn Spears and a security squad. He left his security team to protect the ring as he cut a promo on Punk. MJF asserted that he still had two wins against Punk and that he won at Revolution despite Punk’s cheating.

Wardlow’s turn against Maxwell Jacob Friedman at AEW Revolution raised concerns about what would happen to MJF’s contract with Mr Mayhem, as Wardlow doesn’t officially work for AEW – he works directly for MJF.

Wardlow has sought to be freed from his contract, but Friedman simply rejected it on Dynamite on Wednesday. He stated that the pact is unbreakable and promised to make his former bodyguard’s life “a living hell.” MJF proposed just bossing Wardlow about, citing the old adage about instructing someone to jump and them asking, “How high?”

Wardlow then stormed to the ring to attack Friedman. After approximately ten security officers managed to restrain him, MJF disclosed his plan: he’ll pay Wardlow to remain at home until the spectators forget about him, whether that takes weeks, months, or more. He then ordered the War Dog to be taken from the arena, probably to begin his exile.

Wardlow’s baby face turn on MJF

Wardlow turned on MJF after he refused to give Friedman the diamond ring during his dog collar battle against CM Punk during the AEW Face of the Revolution ladder match at the previous PPV. Last week on Dynamite, MJF paid Wardlow back by costing him his TNT Championship bout and then bludgeoning him afterwards.

This split and conflict has been smoldering for a long time now, so it’s reasonable that AEW would want to deliberately calm things down a bit, which may make fans crave him even more in his disappearance. In the meanwhile, Wardlow may be able to torture MJF from afar thanks to his exile.

Nevertheless, this is only the start, not the conclusion, of this feud.
