Toni Storm is reported to be joining AEW in the near future. Storm has supposedly piqued the eye of AEW executives, according to Fightful Select. She is expected to join the organisation sooner rather than later, due to the high level of interest. Storm has been pushed by a number of AEW wrestlers to join with them.

Toni Storm requested and received her WWE release in late December. Her 90-day non-compete agreement ended today, therefore she’s a free agent, according to reports. Storm just started an OnlyFans account, but there’s no indication of what she has in store for her pro wrestling career.

Athena (a.k.a. Ember Moon) is also expected to join AEW. Athena and AEW have had at least mild discussions and gauged interest, according to the report. According to those close to the matter, Athena and AEW went through a “feeling out” period when she was released from her WWE agreement on November 4. After her 90-day non-compete clause passed in early February, she became a free agent.

There’s no indication on whether AEW will bring Athena in, but according to corporate insiders, there doesn’t appear to be a rush to sign her to a contract. According to other promoters, Athena is quite picky when it comes to indie bookings.

Other than Toni Storm AEW can bring other female superstars as well

On February 12, Athena returned to the ring after losing to AEW Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa at Warrior Wrestling #19. That night, Rosa’s Warrior Wrestling Women’s Championship was also on the line. At Warrior Wrestling #20 on March 12, Athena worked a Triple Threat with Skye Blue and Rosa with the championship on the line.

She has at least three big indie matches coming up in the next few months: one against Mia Yim this Thursday at WrestleCon’s Mark Hitchcock Memorial Supershow in Dallas; one against Taya Valkyrie on April 15 for Prestige Wrestling in Portland; and one against Swerve Strickland in the main event of TWR’s Swerve’s House event on April 16 in Clive, Iowa.

Nixon Newell (a.k.a. Tegan Nox) is another free agent who has sparked debate in the women’s wrestling community. Newell was released from her WWE contract on November 18, and her 90-day non-compete clause ended on February 16, making her a free agent. Newell hasn’t competed since her WWE release in mid-October, and she hasn’t been in the ring since then.

Regarding Newell’s pro wrestling future, as of a few weeks ago, she was preoccupied with resolving Visa difficulties, which have proven to be a difficult task for many wrestlers who find themselves unexpectedly unemployed. There’s no news on if AEW, ROH, or Impact Wrestling are interested in signing her.
