Chinese volleyball player Gong Xiangyu is known for his backhand. Born on April 21, 1997, she currently plays for Jiangsu Women’s Volleyball Club. The Gong family comes from sports. Her mother, a former national épée champion P.E. coach, while his father previously played for the Jiangsu U-23 basketball team. Gong’s given name, Xiangyu, symbolizes his dynamic personality. In 2016, he enrolled in Nanjing Normal University.
In his junior career, Gong initially played as a setter. But in 2014, he made a successful transition to his role as a reverse hitter due to an injury to a teammate.
