When she moved to Bursa, she sustained her passion for the sport, representing her high school team at Bursa Bahçeşehir Anadolu and playing for Bursa Büyükşehir Belediyespor. During the 2014–15 season, Karakurt showcased her skills with the Bursa BB team in the Turkish Women’s Volleyball League. Holding dual club licenses, Karakurt had the unique opportunity to play for both Bursa BB and Vakfbank.
After demonstrating her potential in Vakfbank’s youth team, she was promoted to the senior roster – a defining moment in her career. Her time at Vakfbank was marked by success, including a championship victory in the 2017–18 CEV Women’s Champions League. Nevertheless, in 2020, she made the transition from Vakfbank to the Turkish team Türk Hava Yolları.
Karakurt’s international career got off to a strong start with the Turkey U18 team, with performances at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship in Argentina and the 2017 Girls’ U18 Volleyball European Championship in the Netherlands. Her extraordinary performances earned her the title of one of the world tournament’s two Best Outside Spikers. Her achievements continued with the Turkey U23 team, which won the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women’s U23 World Championship in Slovenia. Upon joining the national team, Karakurt played a crucial role in the team’s silver medal win at the 2019 Women’s European Championship in Ankara, Turkey, following up on a silver medal finish at the 2018 FIVB Volleyball Women’s Nations League.
