The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023 is set to welcome 24 teams from around the globe for an 11-day event, making its debut on the world stage following the FIVB Board of Administration’s resolution in February 2022 to align the age groups for both genders. The championship, scheduled to unfold in the Croatian city of Osijek and the Hungarian city of Szeged, is set to happen with a line-up of 104 matches.
For the first stage, the squads will be sorted into four separate groups, aiming for victory from Tuesday until Sunday, with an interlude scheduled for Friday. As the group stage wraps up, the format of the tournament will shift to a knockout style. The top-performing quartet from each group will move ahead into this decisive stage, which spans the Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and eventually culminates in the medal matches. Moreover, there will be battles for the 17th to 24th positions. Teams bidding farewell in the Round of 16 will fight for standings from 9th to 16th.
