The 18th FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship will take place in 2023 at a venue chosen by the Fédération International of Volleyball (FIVB), the sport’s international governing body. Every two years, women’s national teams under the age of 19 from member associations compete in the competition. It will take place in Croatia and Hungary from August 1 to August 11, 2023. This will be the first edition with under-19 national teams because the FIVB decided in March 2022 to alter the age level of the girls’ tournament from U18 to U19 in order to link it with the boys’ U19 World tournament. The player’s birthdate had to be after January 1, 2005.

There were meant to be 20 national teams eligible for the final competition. The FIVB did confirm an increase in the number of participating teams from 20 to 24 in January 2023 in order to “facilitate the co-hosting.” 19 other teams qualified in five different continental competitions, along with Croatia and Hungary, who automatically qualified as the hosts and all of which had to be completed by the latest deadline of December 31, 2022. Based on the teams that had not yet qualified and the Girls’ U19 FIVB World Ranking (excluding teams from the CEV), the last 3 teams contested.

Teams have been grouped into four separate groups for this stage of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023, which runs from Tuesday through Sunday with a designated rest day on Friday. A knockout format will be used for the remainder of the event when the group stage is over. Turkey and Puerto Rico will square off on Wednesday in the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship. According to the FIVB U-19 World Rankings, Turkey is ranked sixth. The FIVB U 19 World Rankings have Puerto Rico at position 13, though. On Wednesday, there will be a compelling matchup.
