The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023 is set to host 24 international teams over a span of 11 days, marking its debut as a result of the FIVB Board of Administration’s landmark decision to equalize age group competition across both genders, taken in February 2022. The tournament, unfolding in Osijek in Croatia and Szeged in Hungary, is slated to feature a total of 104 matches. This inaugural edition of the tournament, notably co-hosted by a duo of nations, commences with a group stage.

In the initial stage, the teams are distributed into four distinct groups, competing from Tuesday to Sunday, with a day’s break set for Friday. The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023‘s structure transitions to a knockout system once the group phase concludes. The four best performing teams from each group will enter this sudden-death stage, which includes the Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and the medal matches. Additionally, teams will have a chance to fight for the 17th to 24th rankings. Teams departing in the Round of 16 will aim for positions ranging from 9th to 16th.
