The stage is set as the European Volleyball Confederation, the organization that oversees Volleyball competitions in Europe, prepares to host the 33rd Women’s European Volleyball Championship, from August 15 to September 3, 2023. A total of 24 countries are gearing up to display their volleyball skills and fight for the top spot in Belgium, Estonia, Germany, and Italy as they are the hosts of the event. In 2021, Italy dazzled everyone with a 3-1 victory over Serbia to win the coveted title.

On August 19, 2023, Slovenia will play Belgium in a Pool A preliminary match at the CEV Women’s European Volleyball Championship 2023. Belgium prevailed in their first match which they played against Hungary, while this will be Slovenia’s first match of the tournament. Belgium’s best finish came in 2013 when they placed third defeating Serbia by 3-2. On the other hand, Serbia has never finished on the podium.
