The European Volleyball Confederation, the continent’s top body for national teams with players under the age of 17, hosts the European Men’s U-17 Volleyball Championship every two years. The EuroVolley U17M 2023 competition, which will occur in Podgorica from July 19 to July 30, is anticipated by the volleyball community in Montenegro. The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro’s (OSCG) Secretary General, Ivan Bokovi, spoke to the media at a press conference that was held at the Voco hotel about a week before the competition started.
The European Volleyball Confederation has entrusted federation with organizing the continental championship for young male players under the age of 17 as a result of the excellent administration of the U17 Women’s competition held here in 2020. They are doing this with great honor and responsibility. The CEV has once more commended the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro for prior work.
The final of the CEV U17 Volleyball European Championship will take place on Friday between France and the Czech Republic. Depending on the result of the game, both teams’ success will vary. Prior to Friday’s game, France had lost a close game to Italy (2-3) in which they were defeated. On the other hand, the Czech Republic recently suffered a humiliating loss to Spain (1-3). France will be motivated to play against the Czech Republic on Friday as a result.
The top 16 teams from Europe with athletes born in 2007 and under will compete in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, and at the Volleyball Federation of Montenegro. Fans and spectators of volleyball will have the opportunity to watch teams from Italy, France, Poland, the Netherlands, Serbia, and other volleyball powerhouses in Podgorica and Montenegro in addition to the host Montenegro. 16 different countries will take part. The Volleyball Federation of Montenegro has provided our young athletes with the opportunity to compete in a notable event and gain experience representing their nation on the European stage by hosting this European Championship.
