Get ready for some thrilling volleyball action in Chennai, Tamil Nadu! The Indian Premier Volleyball League’s third season is kicking off on February 15th, and we’re all set to support our top picks until March 21st, 2024. The season’s starting match is a big event—the Ahmedabad Defenders, last year’s winners, are taking on Chennai’s own team, the Chennai Blitz. And you won’t have to miss any of it, because all the matches will be shown on TV or you can watch them online in India.
Keep your eyes on the new team on the block, the Delhi Toofans, as they join eight other teams in vying for the championship. The best five teams will enter the Super 5s playoffs from March 11th to 18th. The winner of the playoffs will earn an automatic spot in the final on March 21st. But there’s still a chance for the second and third-place teams—they’ll battle it out on March 19th for the remaining spot in the final.
All this excitement is happening at Chennai’s SDAT Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, with the winner getting a chance to compete internationally at the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship in India from December 9th to 15th. The Mumbai Meteors are looking to bounce back after getting beaten 3-0 by the Kolkata ThunderBolts, with scores of 15-12, 16-14, and 15-11. On the other hand, the Calicut Heroes are aiming to keep their win streak going after their commanding 3-0 victory over Chennai Blitz, with scores of 13-15, 13-15, and 12-15.
