On August 2, 2023, Brazil will lock horns with Peru in a Pool C game at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023.
The FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U19 World Championship 2023 is hosting 24 international teams from August 1 to August 11, 2023. This will mark its debut as a result of the FIVB Board of Administration’s decision to equalize age group competition across both genders, which came into effect in February 2022. The tournament is happening in Osijek in Croatia and Szeged in Hungary and will feature a total of 104 matches. This inaugural edition of the tournament, notably co-hosted by two nations, commences with a group stage and will follow the knockout phase.
In the initial stage, the teams are distributed into four different groups, competing from Tuesday to Sunday, with a day’s break set for Friday. The four best-performing teams from each group will enter the knockout phase, which includes the Round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals, and medal matches. Moreover, the teams will have an opportunity to battle for the 17th to 24th rankings. Teams that will lose in the Round of 16 will also aim for positions ranging from 9th to 16th.
