In 2023, the annual men’s volleyball competition known as the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League will reach its conclusion. The finals will be held in Gdansk, Poland’s Ergo Arena from June 6 through July 23, 2023. Cuba replaced Australia in this edition due to the Challenger Cup 2022 results and the Nations League. There could only be 16 teams competing. Of those, ten qualified as core teams exempt from relegation. The top six teams were selected to serve as challenger teams that could be disqualified from the contest. Australia was replaced by Cuba after the latter team won the Challenger Cup in 2022.

There will be sixteen teams competing in the event. Ten of them—Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Iran, Japan, Poland, Serbia, and the United States—have attained the status of the core team, protecting them from potential downgrading. The six challenger teams—Bulgaria, Canada, China, Cuba, the Netherlands, and Slovenia—will compete for the championship at the risk of being demoted.

Brazil and Cuba will play each other in the FIVB Men’s Nations League 2023 on June 11. Two competing teams will face off in this match. Brazil is currently ranked third in the world, and Cuba is ranked thirteen. Brazil finished sixth on the table following the conclusion of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Nations League 2022, while did not participate. This time, both groups aim to win the standings.
