Strickland demands more money for a potential title fight against Adesanya

The UFC is gearing up for an epic fight but the opponent for Israel Adesanya’s middleweight belt is still up in the air. While there was talk of Dricus Du Plessis taking on Adesanya. It seems like Sean Strickland might step in instead. But the fight isn’t set in stone yet. Strickland is demanding more money for this high-stakes bout.

Strickland revealed that he’s talking to the UFC about facing Adesanya at UFC 293 on September 9. But they haven’t made an official agreement yet. Sean is adamant about getting a better deal. Strickland thinks fans want to see him fight Adesanya more than Du Plessis and he’s ready to prove his skills in the Octagon.

Adesanya himself said that Du Plessis pulled out of the title fight because of a foot injury, which opened the door for Strickland to potentially challenge for the belt. But neither Du Plessis nor the UFC has said anything about it.

They never officially confirmed the fight between Du Plessis and Adesanya. But they were supposed to face off at an upcoming Australian pay-per-view event. Du Plessis showed he’s got the chops by defeating former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 290 making him a tough contender for Adesanya’s belt.

Strickland understands that Du Plessis might not want to fight on short notice. But he’s got a different mindset. He’s not afraid to fight anytime and anywhere. Strickland confidently said to pay him more money and he will fight Adesanya right now.

It’s exciting to see what will happen next as Strickland’s request for more money adds some drama to the potential matchup. Although Strickland isn’t the best grappler. He’s tough as nails and packs a punch making the fight intriguing. His recent wins over Luana Carolina and Hannah Goldy showed his knockout power.
