On the IMPAULSIVE podcast, the 27-year-old responded to a question regarding the post-fight account by saying: “I’m not particularly impacted by the media. Like, those guys spewing trash are just incredibly stupid. If it did have an impact on me, I feel like I would be mentally unsound. And I believe that everything I have worked on for myself over the past five to six years—including developing and achieving fame—has been done so in order to deal with it.” He remarked as well: “I am thus unaffected by it. And those guys are all like, “Dude that was really hilarious,” which shows how much I appreciate their ideas.”

Even a UFC 284 fight between Cejudo and Sterling, slated for February 2023 in Perth, was mentioned. However, “Funk Master” recently asserted that he won’t make a comeback before the middle of 2023, putting an end to any speculation about his performing in Australia in February.
