Former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey has recently been linked to a potential return to MMA after receiving a formal invitation to save the featherweight division earlier this year. UFC President Dana White has categorically stated that Rousey’s return to the Octagon is not on the cards.

The rumors gained traction in June when Rousey received an invitation to come back to MMA. The idea of her return seemed plausible as Rousey’s combat sports legacy had taken a hit with consecutive knockout losses that led her to transition to the world of professional wrestling.

However, White has made it clear that there’s no chance of Rousey stepping back into the Octagon. He emphasized that Rousey has already achieved all her goals in combat sports and is now focused on other aspects of her life including starting a family.

Ronda Rousey’s UFC door remains closed, says Dana White

There’s no shot,” White stated in an interview with SI.com. “She’s accomplished everything she set out to do. Her dream was to win a UFC championship, then win a WWE championship, and she’s done it. Now she’s starting a family. Ronda has made so much money and she’s still making a lot of money in sponsorships.”

Rousey is also an Olympian and continues to make waves in the world of professional wrestling under the WWE banner. Her transition from MMA to wrestling has been successful and she has carved out a new path for herself in the entertainment industry.

Rousey herself has previously expressed a lack of interest in returning to the UFC. She walked away from the sport in 2017 and has maintained that she wouldn’t consider a return unless the promotion manages to secure a significant signing that piques her interest.

In essence, the possibility of Rousey’s return to the Octagon appears to be a closed case for the time being. This announcement from White might come as a disappointment to fans who were hoping for a dramatic comeback from the former champion.

Rousey’s legacy in MMA remains significant. She played a pivotal role in bringing women’s MMA to the mainstream and became one of the sport’s most recognizable figures. Her dominance in the bantamweight division earned her widespread acclaim and her contribution to the sport’s growth cannot be denied.
