At UFC 292, Kamaru Usman was set to defend his welterweight title against the dangerous striker Jorge Masvidal. However, things took an unexpected turn during the weigh-ins when Masvidal failed to make the required weight limit. Leaving fans disappointed and questioning his dedication to the fight.
Usman expressed his disappointment over the situation clarifying that it was not his fault that the bout did not take place as planned. Both fighters had signed the contract and Usman expected Masvidal to honor the agreement by making the stipulated weight. Usman recognizes Muhammad’s position as he is next in line for a title shot. However, Usman understands that Muhammad may be hesitant to risk his title hopes by taking another fight before getting a shot at the belt.
