Jake Paul is the “Problem Child” of combat sports. He has been making waves in the boxing world with his special attraction to fights and brash attitude. Once vocal about wanting a crack at the notorious Conor McGregor in the boxing ring. Paul’s recent comments suggest a shift in priorities.

The social media star turned professional boxer has built a massive following and has become a combat sports star in his own right. While many critics have downplayed Paul’s boxing abilities. There’s no denying the eyeballs he brings to his fights and the intrigue he generates among fans.

In the past, a showdown with Conor McGregor seemed like a dream matchup for both fighters. The potential for a lucrative payday and a chance to test their skills against one another was enticing. However, it appears that the interest level in this bout has waned at least from Paul’s perspective.

After defeating Nate Diaz via unanimous decision on August 5. Jake Paul made his feelings about Conor McGregor clear during the post-fight press conference. When asked about his interest in a fight against McGregor. Paul simply replied, “I don’t care about that guy. He needs to go to rehab.

The dismissive tone in Paul’s comments suggests a change in attitude towards a potential bout with McGregor. While Paul might be trying to assert his own star power and big-time UFC superstar. His previous willingness to entertain the idea of facing McGregor seemed genuine.

Jake Paul’s dismissal of Conor McGregor: A shift in priorities?

During the fight week leading up to his clash with Nate Diaz. Paul hinted at a future fight against McGregor, should he emerge victorious. He stated, “When I knock out Nate Diaz and do what Conor couldn’t, it only makes sense for him to want that money fight.”

Despite his bravado, Paul did acknowledge that a potential matchup with McGregor would require approval from UFC President Dana White. McGregor, being under contract with the UFC, would need permission from his boss to pursue a boxing match with Paul.

In the same post-fight interview, Jake Paul laid out his future plans, which include branching out into MMA and even a potential rematch with Tommy Fury. Paul expressed interest in having an MMA bout against Nate Diaz under the PFL banner. Showcasing his willingness to explore different combat sports.

The desire for a rematch with Tommy Fury, who is set to fight KSI in October also suggests that Paul is focused on building his own legacy in the world of boxing. While the prospect of a lucrative showdown with Conor McGregor might still be enticing. Paul appears to be setting his sights on other opportunities.
