He made it to the quarter-finals of the Australian Open thereby losing to Djokovic after beating the likes of Rune, Evans, Ruusuvuori, and Thiem. In the recently played Srpska Open, he made it to the final losing to Lajovic but he filled that void by lifting the title at the Monte-Carlo Masters beating the likes of Rune, Fritz, Struff, Khachanov, and Munar.
