Dominik Koepfer is a professional tennis player from Germany. On 10 May 2021, he reached a career-high ATP singles ranking of No. 50, and on 31 January 2022, he reached a career-high ATP doubles ranking of No. 94. At Tulane University, he was a tennis player. As a lucky loser, Koepfer made his ATP main draw debut at the Winston-Salem Open. With Denis Kudla, he won his first ATP Challenger Tour title in doubles at the 2017 Columbus Challenger. Koepfer defeated Tennys Sandgren in his first ATP Tour match, again as a lucky loser, at the Winston-Salem Open.

Koepfer earned a wild card for the 2019 Wimbledon Championships after winning his first Challenger in singles at the Ilkley Trophy. He won his first Grand Slam main draw match in the first round, defeating Filip Krajinovic, before losing in straight sets to Diego Schwartzman. As a qualifier, he advanced to the fourth round of the 2019 US Open for the first time, losing to Daniil Medvedev in four sets. At the Italian Open, Koepfer advanced to the quarterfinals for the first time on the ATP Tour Masters 1000. For the first time in his career, he advanced to the second round of the 2020 French Open, where he was defeated in four sets by Stan Wawrinka.

Koepfer began his season by competing in the inaugural Great Ocean Road Open. In the first round, he was defeated by Australian Christopher O'Connell. He was defeated in the second round of the Australian Open by Dominic Thiem, the third seed and last year's finalist. He made it to the third round of the French Open for the first time, but was defeated by Roger Federer, the eighth seed, former world number one, and 2009 champion. He was defeated in the second round of the US Open by Daniil Medvedev, the second seed and eventual champion.
