Ons Jabeur has been in a different kind of form since the last year and she has maintained that red-hot run of form at the start of this year as well. She received a first-round bye and then faced Cîrstea winning the match in straight sets and setting up a quarter-final matchup against Kostyuk. The match was absolutely scintillating with the first set giving us fans a moment to cherish as the stars battled it out with the Tunisian winning the first set. The second set was simply one-sided as Jabeur was unstoppable and won the match ended 7-6, 7-5 moving on to the semis.
Linda Noskova has been a great surprise this tournament as she has moved on from the qualifiers to the semifinals shocking a lot of stars on the way. She first faced Kalinskayain the first qualifier and beat her to move on to the second qualifier matchup against Potapova. It was yet another massive win for Linda, as she progressed to the round of 32 stage and beat Kasatkina. She then faced Liu beating her in the round of 16 stage and setting up a quarter-final matchup against Azarenka fighting it out through three intense sets and finally beating her 6-4, 6-7, 7-6 to progress to the next round and kept her fairytale run alive.
