After an intensely contested first set, Lorenzo Sonego had to withdraw due to an injury concern in the first round of the 2023 Adelaide International 1 on Monday. The Russian recorded five aces throughout the duration of the match and converted one out of four break points. His win percentages on the first and second serves were 68% and 58% respectively. “I didn’t know it was nine set points, that’s crazy and probably the first time in my life I’ve saved nine set points,” Medvedev said after the match. “What a match to start the year and definitely unfortunate for everybody that it finished early even though we played for 1hr 40mins. I’m happy to be through and to win the first set.”
Serbian tennis star Miomir Kecmanovic made a fine start to his Adelaide International 1 campaign as he defeated Christopher O’Connell 6-4, 6-4 in the first round on Monday. Kecmanovic recorded four aces in the match and converted three out of five break points. He also recorded 58% and 81% on the first and second serves respectively.
