Jannik Sinner has looked like a whole different player in the last couple of tournaments and will be determined to perform well in Miami Open as well. In his last tournament, which was the Indian Wells Masters, he got knocked out in the semi-finals to eventual champion, Alcaraz. In in the tournament before that, he lifted the trophy beating players such as Cressy, Fils, Sonego, and Fucsovics. At the Australian Open, he made it to the fourth round losing to Tsitsipas in what was a five-set thriller. At the Paris Masters, he couldn’t make it past the first stage mark, and at the Vienna Open, he lost to Medvedev in the quarter-finals after picking up crucial wins against Garin and Francisco Cerundolo. At the Rotterdam Open, he made it to the finals losing to Medvedev after beating the likes of Bonzi, Tsitsipas, Stanislas Wawrinka, and Griekspoor. In the ongoing Miami Open, he beat Djere in the first-round matchup by 6-4, 6-2, and in the second round, he beat Dimitrov by 6-3, 6-4. In the round of 16 matchup, he beat Rublev by 6-2, 6-4. In the quarter-finals, he beat Ruusuvuori by 3-6, 1-6, and in the semi-finals, he beat Alcaraz by 7-6, 4-6, 2-6.
4th seed Daniil Medvedev has been in the form of his life recently having won three consecutive tournaments. He has made it to the later stages of the majority of the tournaments he has played in the last couple of months. He lost to Sebastian Korda at the Australian Open in the third round after beating Millman and Giron in the first two matches. At the Paris Masters, he lost to de Minaur in the opening round itself, and at the ATP World Tour Finals, he failed to register a single win. At the Vienna Open, his time finally came as he lifted the trophy after beating the likes of Shapovalov, Dimitrov, Sinner, Thiem, and Basilashvili. At the Rotterdam Open, he lifted the title beating the likes of Sinner, Dimitrov, Davidovich Fokina, Van de Zandschulp, and Auger-Aliassime. After that, he also lifted the Qatar Open and Dubai Tennis Championships and at the recent Indian Wells, he beat was beaten by Alcaraz in the finals. In the ongoing Miami Open, he beat Carballes Baena in the first-round matchup by 1-6, 2-6, and in the second round, he received a walkover against Molcan. In the round of 16 matchup, he beat Halys by 4-6, 2-6. In the quarter-finals, he beat Eubanks by 3-6, 5-7, and in the semi-finals, he beat Khachanov by 7-6, 3-6, 6-3.
