After a successful outing against Madison Brengle in the first round, fifth seed Ons Jabeur will have to face another American in Elizabeth Mandlik in the second round of the 2022 US Open. Jabeur had made it all the way to the final of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships but just fell short against Elena Rybakina in the final. This time, the fifth seed will be hoping to take that extra step and win her first Grand Slam title.
Things were not easy but Elizabeth Mandlik edged past Tamara Zidansek in her first round match by a score of 5-7, 7-6 (7-3), 6-4. The American smashed four aces in the match and recorded six out of 11 break points. She also recorded win percentages of 69% and 54% on the first and second serves respectively.
Ons Jabeur and Elizabeth Mandlik are scheduled to face one another in a second round match of the US Open 2022 on Wednesday, August 31. The 2022 US Open is all set to begin from August 29 till September 11.

The 2022 US Open will see six rounds of action excluding the qualifiers. These include the first round, second round, third round, quarter-finals, semi-finals and final for both men’s and women’s. The tournament is scheduled to commence on August 29 and conclude on September 11 this year.
