Richard Gasquet has not been in good form recently having lost three of the last five matches he has played. David Goffin has not been in good form recently and has been on a losing run for the last couple of months and he will be motivated to have a change of fortune in the first match of the new year. He has been losing the tournaments he has played getting knocked out right in the first rounds. He lost to Richard Gasquet after winning the first two matches against Schwartzman and Bailly. In the next tournaments, he got knocked out right in the round of 16 tie against Nakashima and Dere. He beat Alexander Bublik in the first-round matchup and Christopher Eubanks in the second round with the score ending 6-2, 6-4.
