Three consecutive straight-set victories for 11th seed Taylor Fritz has seen him comfortably through to the round of 16 of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships. On Saturday, Fritz beat Alex Molcan in the third round in dominant fashion. The score at the end of the match was 6-4, 6-1, 7-6 (7-3). The American is having a decent time at the competition as he is et to drop a single set after three matches. Against Molcan, Fritz hit 20 aces and scored five out of eight break points en route to victory. He will face Jason Kubler in the round of 16.
It took a monumental effort but Jason Kubler is deservedly in the fourth round. The Aussie had to overcome a stern challenge in the form of Jack Sock in the third round. The match went on for the full five sets and the score at the end of it was 6-2, 4-6, 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3. During the gurelling battle, Kubler hit 16 aces and converted five out of 15 break points.
Fritz and Kubler are scheduled to face each other on Monday, July 4 in the round of 16 of the 2022 Championships. The timing of the match has not been decided yet. The Championships is scheduled to begin on June 27 and go on until July 10. There were a number of exciting matches on July 4 as the likes of Nadal, Kyrgios, Fritz and de Minaur and others will be in action.
